Former Central Michigan University Football Player Eddie Hillery: Where is he now?

Former Central Michigan football player, Eddie Hillery played linebacker for the Chippewas defense in his senior year back in 2003. E-Hill had 49 total tackles, 2 sacks, and had one interception that year. Almost five years later, I came across the Central Michigan graduate.

Q: Eddie, You know what I am going to ask about first. Did you watch the Motor City Bowl?
A: OF COURSE. I was there.

Q: Dan Lefevour is some quarterback isnt he?
A: He is pretty good, i aint gonna lie. he is a joy to watch

Q: What have you been up to since your days at Central Michigan University?
A. Since I graduated, I've been to the police academy, in hopes of becoming a police officer. Most recently though, I played football overseas in Germany this past spring/summer. I am now hoping to catch on whith team Michigan in the newly formed AAFL.

Q: What made you want to play overseas?
A: I had heard of a few of my former teammates playing over there (Robbie mixon, Darvin Lewis and Jon Nelson). Darvin gave a coach there my info and the rest is history

Q: How is the level of play differ from Division 1 college football to that of the the Germany Football League?
A: The level of play wasnt near D-1 ball but is was still challenging. Some of the German players could definitely play over here in the states

Q: A lot of fans may want to keep up with you and follow your stats. Does your team or the Germany Football League have a website where fans can do that?
A: Yes. dresden-monarchs.de , the site is in german but can be translated by using a number of programs. From this site, you can also access the fan sites as well as the sites for the league

Q: What do you miss most about being a Central Michigan football player?
A: My teammates for sure. it was like having 90 brothers

Q: Do you still keep in contact with some of your former teammates?
A: I do. i see them when i go to watch the Chippewas. Also, a lot of us keep in touch through email

Q: Do you have any current favorite players on the Chippewas? Red Keith maybe?
A: Red is my boy! We talk all the time. He was actually behind me during his redshirt year. I taught him everything he knows! (laughing) Red gets me my tickets to all of the games that i attend. He is a great guy. Thats about it though, i dont know anybody else really. Josh Reardon, on of the GA's is a good friend of mine still

Q: What do you think of Central Michigan's coaching situation? Butch Jones heading to VA?
A: I love what Kelly did for the Chips while he was here, and I'm glad that Coach Jones is building on that success. If he leaves, I can't really be mad at him. The West Virginia head coaching job would be a tremendous opportunity for him. I'm not sure if he will leave, but i hope he stays.

Q: How important is it that college football players have the same coach during their college career?
A: I think that it is incredibly important, as a player and a person. It is hard to gain trust quickly, with that being said. The longer one is there the better off one will be.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?
A: I think it is great, that you are doing this website. i am just as curious about former players as everyone else is. Also, to all of the Chippewa fans out there. On behalf of all of the players, past present and future, we all appreciate you. FIRE UP CHIPS!

Thanks alot Eddie, I appreciate your time and I am sure all of my readers do to. Good Luck to you.
